Testosterone therapy
(TTh)

Overview

Testosterone deficiency (TD) is treatable.1

The aim of TTh is to restore testosterone levels to the normal physiological range and to improve symptoms of TD. Symptoms associated with TD such as reduced bone mineral density, or poor glycaemic control, may not be directly visible to the patient and may require additional monitoring to see improvements.

Treatment of TD can provide both psychological and physical benefits to patients, resulting in improvements in their overall wellbeing and quality of life. Normalisation of testosterone levels with TTh has also been shown to decrease all-cause mortality and cardiovascular disease risk, compared to patients left untreated.2
