Treatment

Testosterone deficiency (TD) can have life changing consequences. Symptoms of TD are wide ranging and can include:1-4

  • Metabolic syndrome
  • Poor cardiac health
  • Increased risk of type 2 diabetes
  • Fatigue

Testosterone therapy can resolve unexplained anaemia in men with TD.5

Data from a 12-month, double-blind, placebo-controlled, multicentre study of elderly men with TD and anaemia indicated that testosterone replacement can resolve unexplained anaemia.5

58.3% of testosterone deficient men treated with testosterone therapy were no longer anaemic at month 12 vs. 22.2% of men receiving placebo.[5] (p=0.002)
54% of men with TD and unexplained anaemia experienced increased haemoglobin levels by ≥1 g/dL above baseline with testosterone therapy vs. 15% in men receiving placebo.[5] (p=0.002)
